  • Do I need to follow the suggestion to compensate the mechanic who helps me find a car?
This suggestion aims to benefit both parties—the mechanic and the buyer—by encouraging them to reach a mutually agreeable arrangement. Alternatively, both parties may agree on a different approach before the meeting to avoid misunderstandings. Currently, Bring Your Mechanic is developing rules of engagement to protect both sides. In the meantime, a $50.00 travel fee is strongly recommended to fairly compensate the mechanic for their effort in meeting the auto buyer. However, this fee remains negotiable and should be agreed upon by both parties prior to the meeting. Note to mechanics: Please clearly explain in your profile description how your services will be provided and how payment will be handled, so that auto buyers can understand the terms in advance.
